Christmas Wreath

Today I have the card with a wreath hanging from the front door.

I used 4 little 1/8" brass brads on the wreath and one 1/4 " brad for the door handle. All the edges have been inked. The Greeting is an older SU stamp on an EK label punch out.

Full instructions for the punch art pieces below:

Hope you come back tomorrow for card number 4 of my first set of 5 Chistmas themed punch art cards.

Christmas Lights

Another simple punch art project; Christmas lights.

I kept this card very simple. It honestly looks better in person as the glitter and glossy accents really stand out. This uses only SU punches. The greeting is also an older SU stamp. All edges were inked and the greeting is mounted with foam dots.

Full instructions below:

Check back tomorrow for another Christams punch art project.

Christmas Stockings

Let's start with one of the real simple ones, the Christmas stockings punch art card.

I accented all pieces with ink along the edges and added little stitches to my patches with a black marker. Each stocking is mounted on a decorative label (SU) punch out. The greeting is an old SU stamp which I punched out with a large label punch by EK.

Full instructions for the stocking punch art is below.

Make sure to come back for tomorrow's card instructions.

Christmas Punch Art - 1

As promised, this week I am starting my Christmas punch art. First up are 5 cards featuring Christmas decorations.

Every day (M-F) this week I will post a close up and instructions for one of these cards.

Note: I tried to use mostly SU punches as these seem to be the most popular ones currently available.
There are 4 other punches used for the actual punch art designs though. There are substitution options available which I will post in my instructions.

Halloween Treats - Frankenstein

Last but not least, and still in time for Halloween crafting, is the last of my treat bags.

Frankenstein's face is also a Provo Craft paper doll face stamp to which I added eyebrows with a black marker. With the exception of the circle punch, all of the punches used are SU.

Here are the instructions. Either pin it using the "pin it" button below or after clicking on the image, right click and save to your PC.

My next project is a minimum of 24 Christmas themed punch art pieces that could be used for an advent calender as well as gift tags, cards, gift boxes etc. They will be posted one at a time as I haven't actually started creating them yet.

Halloween Treats - Dracula

I decided on making little treat bags for each of my kids this year as they are no longer going out to Trick-or-Treat.

The cute Halloween punch art can easily be used for any sort of packaging, be it little bags, boxes, envelopes... etc. They would also look adorable on cards, tags and scrapbook pages.

I used my Coluzzle gift bag template to make my little treat bags. The face is a Provo Craft stamp to which I added the teeth with a black marker.

First up is Count Dracula

He's made with mostly SU punches. Full instructions for him are below. Just click on the image and then right click the large version to save.

I'll write the instructions for the other two in the next day or so and will post them as well.

"Boo"

Although I applied this cute little puch art to a Halloween card, I'm actually planning on making a layout using some older Halloween pictures on which this will look great.

As always I inked all the edges. The "Boo" is stamped with some old Club Scrap letter stamps. The expression as well as the bat, pumpkin and head have been attached with foam dots for some added dimension. The face stamp in from an old set of paper doll face stamps by Provo Craft.

With the exception of the recently retired bat punch from SU all punches used can still be purchased.

Full instructions below (just click on the image and then right click to save)

Stay tuned for a few more upcoming Halloween punch art projects that I will post in the next week.

Sparkle & Shine, Pink stars

When I first looked at this pink star pattern on the tissue box my first thought went to my sister. She's always been more a "girly girl" and gravitates towards pink.

I had to put my own spin on things though and teamed up the pink with earthy brown.

What do you think:

I really like how these turned out. They seem to even have a bit of a masculine feel, dispite the peachy pink.

This is what the tissue box pattern looks like:

As you can see the back ground colour is variegated; lighter in the center and darker at the edged.  As with most tissue boxes this is again a tone-on-tone print.

I made 10 cards in total and again (as with the last project - teal blue tissue box) I only used half the box. I still have the 2 largest pieces left for a future project.

Here are close-ups of the first 4 cards:

Teal blue tissue box take 2

It's rather interesting to see how one color can take on a completely different hue depending with which colours you accompany it.
For most of these cards I used a teal green, which makes the tissue box pattern loook more green. On a  couple I used blue and turquoise which resulted in a more blue look.

Over all I quite like how these turned out. A completely different feel from my usual earthy tones.

Oh, forgot to mention this yesterday. I accented many of the cards with sparkles. Mostly with
iridescent/diamond and on a couple with silver.

Herewith the remaining 6 cards I made from the blue/teal box:

Tools used: Punches - word window (SU), curly label (SU), decorative label (SU), 52 mm scalloped square (PB), large contemporary heart (PB). Expressions stamp - SU.

Tools used: Punches -  s. giant oval (PB) and mega vase (Nankong). Expressions stamp - SU

Too little time, too much to do

It's been much longer than I had hoped since my last post.
Work has been extremely busy and I've had to work overtime most nights.
Add to that my husbands eye surgeries and taking care of the kids and there's not much time left to play; let alone update my blog.

I did find a little inspiration in a couple more tissue boxes. So I made more tissue box cards. I am thinking the card sets would make great gifts come this Christmas.

The first is a "teal blue" set:

The tissue box is a blue on blue flower print:

And believe it or not the 10 cards I made used only half the box. The bottom (with the yellow square) the top and the little side flaps. The 2 largest pieces I still have left.

Here's a close up of the first 4 cards:

Supplies used: Punches - large conteporary heart (PB) Large 1 1/4" circle (PB) and 42 mm scalloped square (PB). The greeting stamp is SU

Supplies used: Punches - large allegro (PB), word window (SU), corner rounder. Greeting stamp SU

Supplies used: Punches - s. giant 56 mm circle (PB), large and mega contemporary heart (PB). The expression stamp is SU.

Supplies used: Punches - s. giant contemporary heart (PB), s.giant 56 mm circle (PB), small oval SU. Expressions stamp SU.

I'll post the remaining 6 cards tomorrow.
